We Created Free Resources That Turn Visitors into Email Subscribers

Not everyone who discovers your business is ready to book lessons today.

That’s why we created a lead generation strategy that gave potential students immediate value while building an email list that Learn Cuban Spanish owns. Not one borrowed or controlled by social media algorithms.

Challenge

Although Learn Cuban Spanish was attracting interest online, there was no consistent system for turning visitors into long-term leads.

People watched videos, visited the profile and left.

The business needed a way to stay connected with potential students after that first interaction.

Strategy

Rather than offering a generic language-learning PDF, we created resources that directly reflected the needs of Learn Cuban Spanish’s audience.

The first was a PDF of 50 Cuban Spanish phrases, designed to help learners discover authentic, everyday expressions that can't be found in a standard Spanish textbook.

The second was access to a library containing a collection of authentic Cuban phone conversations accompanied by transcripts, English translations and workbook exercises designed to help learners build listening comprehension using real-world Cuban Spanish.

After conducting further audience research and analysing engagement across social media, we uncovered a much deeper motivation than simply learning the language.

Many members of our audience weren’t just looking to improve their Spanish.

They were trying to reconnect with their Cuban identity, heritage and culture.

We therefore created a third lead magnet:

A master list of authentic Cuban Spanish resources

A carefully curated collection of books, films, TV shows, music, podcasts, YouTube channels, websites, apps and cultural resources designed to help people reconnect with Cuba beyond the classroom.

Instead of simply teaching vocabulary, the resource gave learners a clear starting point for exploring their heritage and immersing themselves in authentic Cuban culture.

Visitors simply entered their name and email address to receive the list.

Results

Since launching the new lead generation strategy:

  • 121 new subscribers in the most recent 30 days

  • A growing email audience owned entirely by the business

  • A long-term marketing asset that isn’t dependent on social media algorithms

Followers can disappear overnight.

An email list is an asset you own.

By understanding the audience first and creating resources they genuinely wanted, Learn Cuban Spanish transformed social media attention into an engaged community they can continue to nurture for years to come.
